Distance Education for Military Personnel Worldwide
Nazarene Bible College is spit-shining a new program for students in the military called NBC Select. It features accredited undergraduate classes powered by Skillsoft and hosted by Distance Education University (DEU) in an online education environment. NBC Select classes are available for active duty and reserves in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard (ARNG). Civilian employees, military spouses, and others may also be eligible.
The website provides robust information on the college courses for Military Service Members. After a student is accepted at NBC, the courses are linked from NBC’s Online Portal, dCourseWeb. To promote the program, members of NBC and DEU are reaching out this week to military Educational Services Officers (ESO) and chaplains. This is critical since ESOs help guide military personnel in their educational choices, and chaplains know who may be interested in becoming clergy. We are currently receiving inquiries from interested military personnel through the website, and the first students have recently begun the program.
Both new and current NBC students are eligible. Students will choose a major from one of NBC’s fully accredited Bachelor of Arts in Ministry degree (B.A.Min.) programs. NBC is accredited both through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Students will participate at their own pace through the fifteen-week classes. Best of all, tuition assistance is available for all courses.
With NBC Select, we feel we are helping the servicemen and servicewomen who serve and sacrifice for our country to “be all that they can be.” We are grateful that God has blessed us with this innovative way to allow military students to study for a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry degree, wherever they are in the world.
