Dr. Alan Lyke Appointed as New Dean of Online Education
Congratulations are in order for Dr. Alan Lyke as he accepts the position of Dean of Online Education. Although it is with great regret that we must say goodbye to Dr. David Phillips who blessed Nazarene Bible College with 13 years of service, we are also pleased to announce and welcome Dr. Lyke to our Online Education Department. In an email sent by Dr. Harold Graves Jr., he stated, "I am confident Dr. Lyke will give strong visionary leadership to the online program."
Dr. Phillips officially announced his resignation earlier this week and will be accepting a assignment at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee as the Dean of College of Life Long Learning which includes graduate, adult, and online programs. As he steps into his exciting new role, Dr. Lyke will be working closely with Dr. Gary Streit, Vice President for Academic Affairs to innovatively "build upon the successful and significant program established by Dr. David Phillips.", as acknowledged by Dr. Graves.
As many of us are aware, Dr. Lyke is NBC's College Chaplain and head of the Pastoral Ministries Program. He has graciously served our Christian college since 1995, and for that, we commend and honor him in his effort to expand his role here at NBC even further. Additional information will be released as to who takes over his leadership responsibilities when it has been determined, but rest assured, he will carry on as our Chaplain through the remaining winter trimester. During this time of transition, we ask if you would all please pray for our Online Education Department on this new adventure that is about to take place.
