NBC Says Farewell to Dr. David Phillips
This week Nazarene Bible College officially said goodbye to Dr. David Phillips at a special farewell reception held in his honor. Faculty, staff, friends, and family all gathered at the President's Fireside room to wish their blessings upon Dr. Phillips as he begins this new chapter in his life. Dr. Harold B. Graves Jr., our Christian education school’s president, spoke fond words of Dr. Phillips' time at NBC; "Nazarene Bible College is most grateful for the innovative leadership of Dr. David Phillips. He has given strong and visionary leadership to online education since the beginning of the program."
The reception room in Williamson was beautifully decorated, and highlighted with a gorgeous, and uplifting blue color scheme. The color embodied Dr. Phillips indomitable spirit and his unique presence here well. The dark blue hue evoked truth and expertise, while the pure blue tone represented inspiration and spirituality. Dr. Phillips has portrayed all of those characteristics along with other various inspiring aspects of his flawless character during his 13 years at NBC. As always, it was inspiring to hear President Graves speak and enjoyable to watch as he presented Dr. Phillips with a mural of Pikes Peak. The hope is that Dr. Phillips will never forget his time here in Colorado Springs, as his impression here is indelible and will be everlasting.
Lastly, Dr. Jim Russom led us in a prayer circle for Dr. Phillips and his family before we enjoyed the receptions snacks. For those who couldn’t attend, they chose to express their love and appreciation by sending cards of gratitude. The cards overflowed from the basket making that love and appreciation for Dr. Phillips very apparent. These words, however strong, simply fail to express how indebted we are for everything Dr. Phillips has brought to NBC and the online education programSo, join us in thanking and blessing him as he moves into the next chapter of his life, where he will undoubtedly flourish in his continued ministry. We wish him all the greatness and success in the world as he continues his ministry at Trevecca Nazarene University, and give him thanks for everything he brought and gave to NBC.
