The 37th Annual Russell V. DeLong Sermon Award
Every year, Nazarene Bible College presents The Russell V. DeLong Sermon Award, which is an annual sermon series. The wonderful Russell V. DeLong family established the award back in 1975. The event requires students to be nominated by their Christian Preaching II professors and are then invited to submit a sermon manuscript. Afterwards, a faculty committee selects the finalists to deliver their sermons in chapel.
This year, Mrs. Janine King received the 37th Russell V. DeLong Sermon Award. Janine is married to Dr. Thomas King, Chair of the Bible and Theology Department at NBC, and they have both loyally served NBC for years. In addition, Janine is a senior Bachelor of Arts in Ministry student with a major in Christian Counseling. One staff member said, "Janine has not only been a fantastic asset to NBC but she is family as well. We could not be more proud of her in this accomplishment".
As always, NBC is thankful for the support of our students and mission. Janine said, "I rejoice in the years I have been able to serve the Lord, you, and our students at this college. I look forward to God's bright future for NBC, for each of you, and for me." In conclusion, don't forget to watch Janine's sermon, "Where Are You Dwelling", for an unforgettable and empowering chapel service.
