Summer 2011 CCM Orientation
Another Counseling for Christian Ministries Capstone group orientation has taken place on Nazarene Bible College's campus and left us with more special memories to add to our history books. As many of you know, NBC offers a Counseling for Christian Ministries degree, which is completed in a cohort. That means the program is blended due to online curriculum and two intensive on-campus courses both being required to earn the degree. In addition, students in this degree can complete some master's work during your education at NBC.
This summer, one of the group members, Jonathan, decided to be baptized at the Ward Bell Tower. The group gathered around Jonathan in support and witnessed as Dr. Richard Lewis, Professor Emeritus, Psychology helped perform the baptism. Our CCM students are fortunate to partake in a blended program due to the convenience of online courses in conjunction with a terrific face-to-face set of experiences. It just goes to show the connection these students have to share moments as special as a baptism with each other.
When asked how the event went, Dr. Terry Lambright, Director Counseling Programs said, "These weekend intensives are a meaningful addition to the CCM online program. The fact-to-face component adds a depth of personal reflection and group interaction that would not be possible without the students coming to campus. This makes NBC's CCM degree an excellent program for students who desire to develop counseling skills."
As always, it is a huge blessing to be part of an institution that ensures that all programs offered are appropriate and first rate!
