Tribute to our Troops
Michelle and Dan Benavidez, Gold Star parents of Fallen Hero SSgt Kennith W. Mayne will be walking 1,050 miles on foot from Fort Carson, Colorado to the Middle East Conflicts Memorial Wall in Marseilles, Illinois. Those who would like to take part in this journey with them can travel by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, car, van or bus. The walk is in honor of all the fallen soldiers and to raise awareness and to educate Americans about the service and sacrifice paid daily by our troops and their families.
The journey Begins at Fort Carson Army Base Gate 1 at 12 noon on April 13. Immediately following the ceremony at Ft. Carson, a motorcade processional, escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders, will drive 9 miles to Nazarene Bible College’s Campus to celebrate around Apostles Court from 2 pm - 5 pm. They will end their journey at the Middle East Memorial Wall Marseilles, Illinois June 15.
Come and enjoy this Honor Rally with other supporters and military families. There is no Entrance Fee, but donations are accepted. NBC’s ASG will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs. For all the families with kids, there will be a bounce house and other activates to keep the little ones busy, along with other vendors. You can show your support by purchasing an AMF Honor Rally T-shirt and wear it during the awareness walk.
The walk begins Saturday morning at the South Sam's Club. Let's support the AMF and go the extra mile for our troops and their families. Please come and support our troops in honoring all who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms.
