Course Description

Lifelong Learning Skills is a course designed to increase one’s success as a college student and as a lifelong learner. This course addresses the student’s need to develop holistically (spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially). Attitudes and skills that contribute to academic success, specifically understanding NBC as an academic, religious, and social culture, will have special focus.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to

  1. Develop strategies for lifelong learning in the areas of accepting personal responsibility, self-management, self- awareness, and goal setting.
  2. Gain insight on preferred learning styles and identifying personal strengths.
  3. Prepare an effective time management plan that includes personal as well as professional activities.
  4. Reflect on ways to create a workable plan for managing personal finance and budgeting.
  5. Develop effective strategies for stress management, including healthy eating and maintaining physical fitness.
  6. Identify critical thinking skills necessary for analyzing the validity of arguments, logical reasoning, and problem solving
