The Signing of the Constitution
Every year on September 17, The US Department of Education requires institutions to celebrate the signing of the US Constitution – This is part of NBC's contribution this year. Happy Constitution Day!
The Power of Your Signature:
The US Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787, but it took more than two and a half years of work and compromise for all thirteen original colonies to vote to ratify the document and officially join the United States of America. Those signatures carried great weight for all the citizens of those colonies and all the US citizens since! If you had to sign the US Constitution, which one of the amendments would you have wanted to know was sure to be added?
Take a Practice Citizenship Civics Test:
During the naturalization interview that is part of the process of becoming a US citizen, a US Citizen and Immigration Services officer asks the applicant up to ten questions from a list of 100 possibilities. The applicant must answer six correctly. Would you like to try the practice test? This one includes twenty questions with multiple choice answers, so it shouldn’t be too hard!
