NBC Tradition of the Towel Ceremony
For many years, NBC has included a very unique tradition within its Commencement – the Towel Ceremony. Immediately following the handing of the diploma to each graduate by the President of the College, a simple white towel is laid upon the arm of the graduating senior by the program director of that particular student’s program. This towel is to remind the graduate be a true servant-leader, following Jesus’ example. The towel is a physical reminder of this because of Christ’s washing of the disciples’ feet.
