Introducing New Staff at NBC

Hi. I’m Alex Schmitt, one of the new NBC Academic Advisors. I grew up in Monett, MO on the Joplin district and have been involved with the Church of the Nazarene my entire life. I moved up to the Kansas City area to study history and law at MidAmerica Nazarene University, where I graduated in 2018. I am still actively pursuing a future in law and hope to be accepted to a law school in upcoming years. In the meantime, and likely for that duration as well, I look forward to getting to work at Nazarene Bible College, making new friends among the staff, and getting to work with our NBC students. Grace and peace to all of you. Don’t forget to love each other.  Alex Schmitt

Hello, my name is Michelle Avery, and I’m the new Administrative Assistant for Dr. Alan Lyke and Compliance Assistant for Mrs. Shirley Cadle. My family moved to the Kansas City area when I was eight, and I’ve attended the Overland Park Church of God (Holiness) ever since. I began working for our church’s local publishing house, Herald and Banner Press, at sixteen, and eventually worked as editorial assistant and on the design team. I am excited for new opportunities here at NBC! But just in case my shyness overtakes: I have a house, a dog, three nephews, a niece, usually have a book I’m reading, and know some great kids at church that I’d be happy to tell you about! Hi. I’m Aaron Hoffman, a new NBC Academic Advisor. I grew up in the Church of the Nazarene, in Parsons, Kansas on the Joplin district. I studied Spanish at MidAmerica Nazarene University where I graduated in 2011. I have also studied through the NILI program in Quito, Ecuador. I was a volunteer missionary in Riobamba, Ecuador back in 2012. I recently moved back to the Kansas City Area after two years teaching English in South, Korea which was through the ESL teacher program through Korea Nazarene University. I look forward to meeting you all and becoming a part of the NBC family.  Aaron Hoffman
