NBC Board of Trustees’ Meeting Reflections

“NBC is an instrument in God’s hands used to disciple the next generation of Nazarene pastors, with outreach nationally and around the world. It is great to be a part of it,” Board of Trustees’ member Rev. Moises Champo wrote. Long time professor at Seminario Teologico Nazareno, and high school teacher in the Los Angeles school system, Champo has been a member of the NBC board for 9 years. Champo is also lead pastor of the San Fernando Church of the Nazarene in San Fernando, California.

“I missed the Board of Trustee Meeting this year.  I was part of a prayer conference for the week, but in my spirit, I was with NBC and brought her before the Lord. It is rare for me to miss. I am looking forward to next year. Sounds like the meetings were blessed and productive,” corresponded Dr. Lenny Wisehart.  Lead pastor of South Lake Church of the Nazarene in Valparaiso, Indiana, Wisehart has been an NBC board member for 13 years.

"The Board of Trustees’ meeting reflected a particular optimism and enthusiasm for the work of NBC," shared Dr. Fuller, Board of Trustees’ new Chairman. "We are especially grateful for the work of our NBC President Harold Graves, Jr., along with his Cabinet for such encouraging reports and work. NBC is on mission and on target with continuing innovation. Grateful," communicated Dr. Fuller. Leading the Virginia District of the Church of the Nazarene, Dr. Fuller has been an NBC board member for 9 years, 7 of which he served as Vice Chair.

Dr. Graves’ gave his 14th report as President of Nazarene Bible College. He spoke of NBC’s history of Clergy Preparation and spoke of how NBC is strategically positioned to continue to prepare clergy both today and tomorrow.

NBC Board of Trustees’ members are elected at the General Assembly and are composed of pastors, lay people, and district superintendents across the 8 regions of the United States. The institution is blessed to have board members that serve in the local church as pastors, many who lead our districts, and others who are outstanding lay church leaders. This is apropos since NBC is a ministry-based school.
