Encouraging Words to NBC Students from Dr. Gary Haines
Sitting by a lake and enjoying the Presence of our Heavenly Father, reminds me of all the times I would be at my Mom & Dad’s house. They always lived by the water, both in Michigan, and then after they retired…down on the Gulf Coast in Ocean Springs, Miss. I would just find a nice spot by the water (either on a chair or in the car) and just sit there, read, pray, and spend some time with the Lord! It’s very therapeutic! Now, I look at Pikes Peak every day! Not quite the same, but a real good substitute!!!
Serving our Lord, and being obedient to His Call upon our lives is such a blessing, but the enemy doesn’t like it and will do anything he can to discourage us. Just know this. We are so glad that you are here at NBC, and we want to do whatever we can to help and assist you to do what God has called you to do.
All the things that God is pouring into your hearts, mind, and life right now, He’s going to use later on down the road. Our hearts and minds are like reservoirs, and as we study, all the things we are learning are stored there. And later on, the Holy Spirit will bring something to your mind that’s been stored there, and you’ll use it accordingly…either in your preaching or in another area of your ministry! However, you can’t give away something you don’t have! You got to get it stored in you first!
