NBC Chapel Devotional on Psalm 34
NBC President Graves shared a devotional at the weekly NBC Chapel for faculty and staff on November 4th taken from Psalm 34.
History tells us that 400-600 men were with David, the writer of the Psalm, in a cave as he was in hiding. David praises God. The Psalmist says that God protects those who look to Him.
- “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them” (v.7)
David writes that the Lord delivered him, and he looks to those with him in the cave and says,
- “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (v.8).
In other words, David was saying, “Have a personal experience with God like I have.”
- “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry” (v.15).
- “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all (v.19).”
These are promises from God for His presence, His protection, and His peace to be with you! The darker it gets, the brighter the light of God shines. Put your hope in Him.
