Gratefulness and Hope
A calligraphed piece hangs in our dining room which states:
Thou hast given so much to us
- give one thing more -
a grateful heart
How do we approach a holiday that will be so very different this year? Aren't we deeply and truly weary of all the COVID and other changes and losses? Couldn't it all just stop for a day?
Take a moment today to read Psalm 65...but consider this line: You, O God of our salvation...the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas. (Ps. 65:5) God is the one who is both the source of our ability to give thanks, and the "object" or direction to whom our thanks is offered. He is our Hope!
Once again, we need God's sustaining help. His Holy Spirit in our hearts...oh, how we depend on His giving!
