Dr. Joe Warrington Is Honored

What happens when a professor teaches in a particular field for three decades straight? Our own Dr. Joseph Warrington, Director of Pastoral Ministries at NBC, can tell you:

Not long ago, a student in his Introduction to Christian Ministry class quoted a published author who is a former student of Dr. Warrington at NBC. What a testimony of consistent, effective ministry education!

This summer, NBC celebrated Dr. Warrington’s 30 years of service at the July Faculty Workshop. Dr. Warrington believes “a call to ministry is a call to preparation.” He has seen calls affirmed and ministers encouraged in NBC classes and says the purpose of NBC faculty is “to work together to further the cause” of preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world.

As a young minister in the 1980s and 1990s, Joe Warrington pastored and served as a school administrator in Los Angeles, operating an extension of NBC. Since he had been coming annually to NBC’s Colorado Springs’ campus for in-services, he was familiar with and respected by NBC leadership, and in 1993, he joined the faculty on campus. He has been teaching full time for the College ever since, leading both the Ministry Preparation Program and the Pastoral Ministries department in turn.

There is no question Dr. Warrington loves his students. He calls it a privilege to help guide called ones through ministry training and joyfully stays in contact with many well beyond graduation.
