NBC Announces 2025 Giving Tuesday Priorities: Empowering Tomorrow's Ministry Leaders

Nazarene Bible College today announced its 2025 Giving Tuesday focus, emphasizing student scholarship support as the institution's primary funding priority for December 2, 2025. This initiative seeks to address the growing financial burden faced by ministerial students—many of whom graduate with significant debt—by raising scholarship funds that will directly reduce this barrier to ministry.

"Giving Tuesday is more than a fundraising event—it’s a chance to invest in the future of ministry," said Tim Keeton, NBC's Vice President for Development. "By supporting scholarships, we’re removing financial barriers and empowering students to fully embrace their calling to serve."

The scholarship emphasis addresses a critical need facing ministerial students. "NBC degree-seeking students who require student loan assistance graduate with a debt of around $33,000, so anything we can do to lower that burden is extremely helpful," explained Will Mackey, Vice President for Enrollment Management. This financial reality often creates significant obstacles for graduates entering ministry positions.

All Giving Tuesday contributions will be directed to NBC’s Ministry Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to degree-seeking students preparing for ordination. These scholarships help cover tuition, fees, and essential course materials, ensuring students can focus on their calling without financial distraction.

Interim President Dr. John C. Bowling emphasized NBC's vital role in Christian education: "Nazarene Bible College has been God's instrument in preparing accessible, transformational education for ministry leaders for the Church of the Nazarene and across denominations. When financial barriers prevent called individuals from pursuing their divine purpose, we diminish the Church's potential impact."

Nazarene Bible College exists to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world. Since 1967, Nazarene Bible College has fulfilled its mission of preparing women and men for ministry. This Giving Tuesday represents an opportunity for supporters to directly impact the next generation of pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and Christian workers.

"Our vision is to see every NBC student graduate ready to lead, not weighed down by debt," Keeton added. "Each gift given on Giving Tuesday is a step toward equipping passionate, prepared ministers who can make a lasting difference in the world."

Mark your calendars and join NBC this Giving Tuesday—on December 2, 2025—in investing in tomorrow's ministry leaders. Your gift will help a future pastor, missionary, or evangelist graduate debt-free and step into ministry equipped and unburdened. Visit nbc.edu/give/donate to make your gift today.
