Introducing the New Non-Degree Course of Study at Nazarene Bible College

If you or someone you know has been called to the ministry and have begun looking for non-degree ministry training – this may be for you!

NBC leadership is pleased to be a continuing part of preparing men and women for effective ministry in the Church of the Nazarene across the USA/Canada Region by offering the new Non-degree Course of Study ministry training program. Provost Dr. Alan Lyke states, “We are glad to be part of the greater Nazarene community, and we are honored to support those called into ministry in their pursuit of preparation to effectively evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world!”

In cooperation with the denomination, NBC will begin offering the new Non-degree Course of Study (NCOS) in January 2026. This is a new video-based training curriculum, created to replace the long-standing Modular Course of Study. NCOS courses at NBC will be facilitated by qualified instructors, who will give students these 8 weeks of instruction in an enriched format.

The Non-degree Course of Study program is open to anyone seeking education in Christian studies (aged 16 years or older and proficient in English).

NBC continues to offer undergraduate degree programs that meet ordination requirements in the Church of the Nazarene, including a Bachelor’s degree with majors in Pastoral Ministries, Pastoral Leadership, and Hispanic Pastoral Ministries. The Bible college’s non-degree Ministry Preparation Programs (MPP) – the NBC Variation, the Modular Variation, and el Programa de Preparación Ministerial – will also continue to be available and meet ordination requirements. These college-level offerings not only prepare people for ministry and ordination, they also make it possible for ministry students to continue their education beyond the Bachelor level, ensuring the Church of the Nazarene continues to have excellent ministers and leaders for decades to come.

Anyone who is interested in any of these programs can contact the NBC Admissions team at admissions@nbc.edu or 719-884-5060 for more details or to begin a conversation.  More information is available online at https://nbc.edu/programs/ or https://nbc.edu/programs/non-degree-course-of-study/. Online registration for NCOS is now available at https://ncos.nbc.edu/.
