NBC's New Ministry Center
Nazarene Bible College (NBC) recognizes that many pastors feel isolated and disconnected, even as the challenges facing today’s leaders continue to grow. In response, a new yet-to-be-named ministry center is being developed under its auspices. This center will be dedicated to raising up pastors marked by evangelistic zeal and personal holiness by providing training, encouragement, and relational networks that combat isolation and foster a thriving, connected community of leaders. It will offer podcasts, theologically relevant content, teaching tools, vocational training, conferences, and other resources to help pastors and district superintendents navigate an ever-changing world.
NBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rob Prince as the Executive Director of the new ministry center. “We look forward to Dr. Prince’s leadership as he expands the support NBC offers ministerial students, pastors, associates, chaplains, and others called to serve the Church. His passion for holiness and evangelism is evident in his personal life and the churches and ministries he has led. Dr. Prince’s experience leading various churches, along with his innovative and creative gifts, will bring a new level of intentionality and depth in ministerial preparation at NBC,” noted President Rev. Doug Pierce.
Dr. Prince begins his ministry with NBC May 1 and will serve on the President’s Cabinet.
Rob Prince is the lead pastor at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. Arriving just prior to the Flint Water Crisis, he has led this church through trying times in the city. During his tenure, the church has paid off $6.2 million in debt, eliminated $9.2 million in medical debt of residents in southeastern Michigan, built a park, renovated much of the current facilities of the church, developed partnerships throughout the city of Flint in numerous areas of need, and established a long-term partnership in Panama.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to join Nazarene Bible College and to help launch a new center dedicated to raising up pastors marked by evangelistic zeal and personal holiness” says Dr. Prince. “Together, we will cultivate a thriving, connected community of leaders who faithfully serve their contexts. My prayer is for this center to bear fruit for generations to come.”
NBC Board of Trustees Chair Dr. J. Phillip Fuller says, "We are grateful for God’s hand of leadership on NBC during these important days for NBC's God-given mission. The Board of Trustees is grateful for the leadership of our President, Dr. Doug Pierce, and the recent selections of cabinet level leaders, including that of Dr. Rob Prince to head a brand-new initiative for NBC. Dr. Prince’s years of experience as a pastor in Michigan, Kansas City, with his focus on practical and theologically oriented leadership are a gift to NBC and to the Church.”
