File the 2013-2014 FAFSA after February 28, 2013.
Students who plan to use Federal Financial Aid for the 2013-2014 academic year will need to apply for aid at the FAFSA website at (www.fafsa.ed.gov). Due to changes in the Financial Aid process, NBC strongly recommends that students fifi ling a 2012 tax return wait until February 28, 2013 to complete a FAFSA application.
The IRS is offering the use of a Data Retrieval Tool that will be available after February 28, 2013. This IRS Data Retrieval tool will allow students to access their tax information and transfer the information directly into their FAFSA from the IRS Web site. The Data Retrieval Tool ensures that the information on the FAFSA is correct and eliminates the need to provide a tax transcript to the college. Simplify the FAFSA application and the Student Aid process by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
