Moises C.

Altadena, CA

Hi. My name is Moises Champo. I am currently a pastor in the San Fernando Church of the Nazarene. My connection to NBC right now is as an active member of the Board of Trustees. Right now, as a pastor, I enjoy excitement every week. When I see the congregation come together, I experience the joy of preaching the Word of God and sharing the Gospel with people who are in need. That’s one of the things that pump me up a bit — I look forward to that every time. Obviously, there are many other things, but I will point to that God-appointed function that I am given.

NBC, for me, means a lot in regards to the development of ministers and pastors here in the United States, especially among the Hispanic community. In my opinion, NBC is an absolute necessity for the present condition of the Church and the future development of the organization of the church, both doctrinally and administratively. I think NBC means the future of the Church and the stability that the Church of the Nazarene needs presently and for the future.

Thank you, Dr. Stelting. This is Moises Champo, and I do remember the times that you and I worked together on many different levels during different meetings at NBC and when you visited us in California. You are always welcome. I hope you enjoyed your stay with us. I also want to thank you for the time you took me up to the trailhead in Manitou Springs and just let me go on my way, going up the mountain. I really enjoyed that, so thank you very much.
