FAFSA: Applying for Aid

When applying for financial aid, here are things you should keep in mind:

  • File the FAFSA, even if you think you will not be eligible for a Pell Grant. A completed FAFSA application is necessary to receive federal student loans and institutional scholarships.
  • Almost everyone is eligible for some kind of financial aid in the form of grants or loans. The FAFSA will help you determine the amount and type of aid you may receive.
  • Full-time status is not a requirement for federal aid.

Financial Aid Application Timeline

Nazarene Bible College has an open enrollment policy which allows a new student to enroll twice during each term (approximately every seven weeks). Thus, NBC does not have priority dates for Federal Aid. A student can apply for Federal Financial Aid at any time during the academic year and receive eligible funding no matter when they enroll in classes.

Below is a suggested timeline for financial aid applicants:

Step 1: Apply for admission to Nazarene Bible College (six weeks prior to enrollment)

  • Students should apply online at:  nbc.edu/apply
  • NBC Admissions office will track NBC applications and notify the Financial Aid Office when an applicant has been accepted as a student.
  • Must be accepted for Admission before the Financial Aid Office will package federal student aid.

Step 2: Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (six weeks prior to enrollment

Step 3: Complete Additional documentation (if requested) (four weeks prior to enrollment)

  • Complete electronic verification worksheet via the Financial Aid portal ufasstudentxprod.regenteducation.net Student must request a paper copy if desired. Include a copy of IRS Tax Transcript (if required)
  • Complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling if the student desires to accept a student loan.

  • The NBC Financial Aid Office uses an active confirmation process in which the student is required to accept or decline all awards listed on the Financial Aid portal.
