Empty Tomb
Empty Tomb

Holy Week

Easter. The best week for opportunities of ministry in the church calendar.

So much to consider that last week of Jesus’s life on earth…

His humble entry with shouts of Hallelujah to the King,

The Passover dinner with His disciples,

Jesus prays to His Father “not my will, but yours be done,”

Jesus is betrayed with a kiss by one of the Twelve,

Peter denies even knowing Jesus,

Soldiers mock and beat Jesus,

Pilate and Herod surrender Jesus to the will of the crowd,

Jesus carries the cross to the place called the Skull,

Jesus was crucified between two criminals,

Jesus extends forgiveness from the cross,

Jesus breathes his last breath,

The curtain of the temple is torn in two,

Jesus is buried in a borrowed tomb,

The Sabbath passes,

The first day of the week the tomb is found empty,

Jesus is alive and appears to many, proving His resurrection from the dead.

And life is never the same for anyone after that day!

Even the calendar marks this life changing event in using A.D., the Latin phrase Anno Domini, the year of our Lord, marking years after the birth of Jesus.

Enjoy this week.

Meditate, pray, share, testify, invite, worship, praise, surrender, forgive, confess, give thanks, sing a hymn and a new song, renew your faith, submerge in the Holy Spirit, and rejoice.

“…He has risen, just as He said.” (Matthew 28:6a)
