We've started a new school year!
Nazarene Bible College Celebrates the Start of a New Academic Year
As the fall semester begins, Nazarene Bible College (NBC) is marking another milestone in its mission to prepare adults for ministry and service. The college has welcomed an energetic group of new students and continues to expand its reach across the Church of the Nazarene's USA/Canada region.
Strong Enrollment Reflects Growing Ministry Call
NBC celebrated the arrival of 42 new students during Fall A Orientation, bringing the total enrollment for Fall 2025 to 535 students. This significant number includes 146 degree-seeking students and 389 students in the Ministry Preparation Program (MPP), reflecting the college's dual commitment to practical ministry training in both formal degree and non-degree programs.
The diverse student body represents the college's accessibility through its online delivery system, allowing students from across North America and beyond to pursue their calling in Christian ministry. NBC maintains a 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio, ensuring personalized attention and mentorship for each student.
Community Partnership Powers Outreach
NBC's growth this year was significantly supported by the dedicated efforts of students, alumni, staff, professors, and trustees who served as NBC Ambassadors during the 2025 District Assembly season. These volunteers represented the college at information tables in 50 of the 78 District Assemblies throughout the Church of the Nazarene's USA/Canada region, sharing NBC's mission and connecting with prospective students face-to-face.
This grassroots approach demonstrates the college's deep integration with the broader Nazarene community and highlights the shared commitment to developing ministry leaders at every level of the denomination.
Expanding Educational Opportunities
Looking ahead to January 2026, NBC is preparing to launch an innovative partnership that will further extend its educational reach. The college will offer the Church of the Nazarene's USA/Canada region's non-degree New Course of Study curriculum in an online format, making this essential ministerial education accessible to students throughout the region.
Additionally, NBC will partner with District Training Centers to provide course resources for the New Course of Study in face-to-face, online, or hybrid learning settings. This flexible approach ensures that students on individual districts can access quality theological education in the format that best serves their needs and circumstances.
Commitment to Excellence in Ministry Education
NBC has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 2006 and by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) since 1976, ensuring that students receive education that meets the highest academic standards.
The college will continue offering its comprehensive Ministry Preparation Program courses, which fulfill the educational requirements for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene through denominationally validated curricula. For students seeking undergraduate degrees, NBC's Pastoral Ministries and Pastor Leadership majors remain cornerstone programs that combine academic depth with practical ministry preparation.
A Foundation for Future Ministry
Founded in 1964, NBC has built a reputation for excellence in biblical education and ministry preparation. The college's mission to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and serve continues to guide every aspect of its academic and community life.
As the Fall 2025 semester unfolds, NBC's 535 students represent a diverse community of calling, each preparing to serve Christ's church in various capacities. From traditional pastoral roles to specialized ministries, NBC graduates carry forward a legacy of faithful service rooted in solid biblical foundation and practical ministry skills.
The start of this academic year marks not just another semester, but another step forward in NBC's ongoing commitment to raising up servant leaders for the Church of the Nazarene and the broader Christian community. With strong enrollment, expanded partnerships, and innovative program offerings on the horizon, NBC is well-positioned to continue its vital mission of preparing ministry leaders for the 21st century.
